Nintendo Switch Sports review: That old familiar feeling

Great For the Family 9/10

I got this for my siblings, and an hour in everyone was hooked. The fun selection of sports, amazing colours and scenery make it an excellent addition to your switch library. The only issue is that for some sports you will need an extra pair of joy-cons to play local multiplayer.

So much funnnn :)

If you were a fan of wii sports and wii sports resort, you’ll enjoy switch sports! takes the otherwise simple games to new levels of fun with the online mode. Recommend having a couple extra pairs of joycons if you plan on playing with family and friends locally :)

Better than wii sports

Works so much better with the joy cons than wii sports did with the wii motes. Hopefully more games get added to the 6 but it's really good so far!

Amazing and fun!

We had to replace our TV after flailing the controller towards the screen but all good since we're having so much fun. Don't forget to wear your straps!

Nintendo Switch Sports Review

Wii Sports took over the world in 2006. Nintendo’s motion-controlled sports package turned grandparents into virtual bowling pros, and helped the Wii sell more than 100 million units. The Nintendo Switch has already reached that lofty sales number, and now Nintendo Switch Sports ($49.99) hopes to pull an even larger casual audience. Although volleyball and a few other new additions feature disappointing motion controls, tennis and returning fan favorites showcase just how exciting it is to move your body while playing a video game. Given the proven potential, we hope Nintendo follows up on its plans to expand this sports game collection beyond the initial fun, but skimpy, six-game lineup. Looking Fit The original Wii Sports didn’t have much sense of place, but the follow-up, Wii Sports Resort, transported the competition to Wuhu Island, a tropical locale that later popped up in other Nintendo games. Nintendo Switch Sports sets its arcade sports activities at Spocco Square, whic...

Enjoy fun, casual spins on popular sports, such as soccer and tennis, in this motion-controlled game collection for the Nintendo Switch.

Many intuitive, casual sports games; Customizable characters; Online multiplayer and progression; Budget price

Not all sports available at launch; Some sports control better than others; Not compatible with Nintendo Switch Lite

Nintendo Switch Sports review: Some things never get old

There’s no better feeling than bowling a strike, both in real life and Nintendo Switch Sports. It’s a small, but satisfying athletic accomplishment that doesn’t require years of training and discipline to pull off. It can almost happen by accident, with physics taking the wheel as soon as the bowling ball smashes into the pins. No matter how many times I hit a strike in Nintendo Switch Sports, I always let out a silent fist pump without fail. That’s the lasting power of Nintendo’s now 16 year-old sports series. There’s nothing fundamentally different about bowling in Nintendo Switch Sports and Wii Sports, but there doesn’t have to be. Nintendo’s new package of sports minigames defies the normal expectation about modern games by remaining confident in its instantly gratifying gameplay instead of inventing new hooks to expand the experience. No real-life bowler has ever complained that the sport doesn’t add enough new features year after year, after all (imagine someone arguing that it’s...

Badminton is king; Precise motion controls; Perfect for multiplayer; Long-term potential;

Thin selection at launch; Soccer is a dud; Unrewarding solo play;
