Tamron 18-270mm F:3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Canon 18/270MM F:3.5-6.3 C review

Tamron Di-II lenses are engineered expressly for digital SLR cameras with image sensors commonly referred to as APS-C, measuring approximately 24mm x 16mm. Rendering an ideal image circle for APS-C sensors, Di-II lenses also include properties to optimize digital imaging performance.

Happy with my purchase

Compared image quality with Canon 18-135mm...no difference in quality at same mm. Little slow in focusing inside the house/in inadequate light. But I had expected that. Happy with my purchase.Love it for the price.

Light and versatile.Easy to carry with you all day long without breaking your neck.No creep problem with the lens, with my Canon 18-200mm IS I had to turn on and off the lock switch every time I want to take pictures, very inconvenience and heavy too.

Good overall lens

Good overall lens. Auto focus is very slow compared with my previous Nikon 18-200 mm lens. Not an ideal lens for fast action shots. I use my camera often to take shots at our grandchildrens' soccer games. Focus is also a bit soft and not crisp as the Nikon lens.

Much greater than I expected

I bought this for my wife, who's not great at swapping lenses and likes taking candid shots. I imagined that the quality would be compromised by the zoom range and limited apeture. Decided to try it myself one day when she was at work, and honestly amazed by the results!

Great Picture Quality; Lightweight; Simple Controls

It replaced 3 Canon Lenses

The lens was a Christmas gift from my wife. I was very happy with its low light capability and its sharpness. I use a Canon EOS 2T and this lens is replacing 3 Canon Lenses.

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus

Heavy; Needs Low Light Improveme

Sometimes great, sometimes pretty ordinary. Unfortunately more of the latter than the former. My older Tamron 18-250mm 3.5-6.3 is a much better lens. I'd like to use this lens more (because of the convenience) but I just can't rely on it.

Inconsistent image quality (mainly focus

Great all-round package

The Big Easy

I had a Tamron of similar range for my last non digital Minolta SLR. Despite being assured my lenses would fit my Sony Alpha, if at slightly different f numbers, I was unhappy to find that that particular lens did not cross over.
