The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ATX DX lens, is designed for those who want to photograph ultra-wide on Canon and Nikon APS -C (small-frame sensor) digital cameras. What sets this lens apart from other wide-angle zoom lenses is its fast f/2.8 aperture through its entire range.

Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX Lens

The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX Lens review is the first Tokina lens review I've had the pleasure of creating. And it has been a very positive experience. This is a well-built, ultra-wide angle lens that has very good overall image quality and, at review time, has the widest max aperture...

Lens Test: Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 Pro DX AF

The industry's widest high-speed ultrawide zoom for DSLRs, this digital-only lens ($570, street) is one of Tokina's AT-X series of pro-quality optics. A 16.5-24mm equivalent, its design is based on Tokina's 12-24mm f/4.

Tokina's 11-16mm f2.8 lens for DX cameras earns a TKO for king of the superwides

What superwides are good for Have you ever been to a car show and tried to take a shot of that really hot car but couldn't back up far enough to fit it all into the frame because of some obstruction or the crowd of people being in the way?

Nice Lens

I recently down-sized my stock of Nikon lenses. I needed to fill a wide-angle void as a result of the down-sizing. I read other reviews of this lens, on B&H website and other photo websites. The reviews seemed to indicate it was a good choice. I plan to use it in landscapes and waterscapes work.

Durable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Rugged; Strong Construction

Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 PRO DX SD review by pberdeaux

This is one of the best ultra wide angle DT lens out here for your money. I've had this lens for about a year now with a Sony A77. It's a little soft around the edges at f2.8 but it does very well between f4-5.6, and is very sharp at f8-16.

Fast aperture/focus; great build quality; and smooth MF

the lens works well as advertised but the clarity is not very good. another thing is if you are getting this for sony i should warn you that it is not all that fast when it comes to focusing, but still it can capture a great picture as long as u understand how the lens works

I am really happy with this lens and I recommend it.

This lens quality is amazing ; the border aberration is better that any order lens that I have tested. It works perfect in my Nikon D7100. This is my first Tokina lens but for sure it'll not been the last one.

I do a lot of outdoor landscape type photograhy and wanted something a little wider than my 17-50 Tamron f/2.8 to utilize as well. After doing some searching and reading reviews I decided on the Tokina 11-16. I wanted something "wide" but I did not want to go the fish-eye route.

Build Quality; Weight (I think it's a strength; Wide angle; Sharp and very quick; Great pictures
