Great starter wide-angle lens

I bought this lens recently and took it on a trip to Banff used it to take over 1000 landscape shots over the course of a week and found it to be the perfect lens for hiking/outdoors.

Tokina 12-28 - very good lens

For shooting real estate, low distortion is a plus, also having a correctable distortion is even better. This lens pretty much has both. After using the Tamron 10-24 and the Nikon 10-24, this is the best of the bunch overall.

28mm Reach; Correctable Distortion; Low distortion; price; Sharp; Smooth Operation; Well built

Can't think of any now

Tokina 12-28mm f/4 AT-X 128 AF PRO DX review by sflorio

I got this for my Canon 60D. Excellent image quality across the entire frame, and the good zoom range means that you can leave it on the camera as a walkaround lens. Compared to my Sigma 17-70, which is a very good lens, I noticed that the edges of the Tokina were bright and clear without any...

Edge to edge sharpness; minimal light falloff at the edges; useful zoom range

No stabliization; not super sharp at 28mm

Good choice for landscape and travelling (ultrawide to normal zoom lens) on APS-C

IQ (Whole frame sharp); very low distortion; good ghost and flare resistance; good zoom length for landscape and travelling 18-42 (on 35mm

Good to use only on APS-C (Don't try to use it on FF even it can use from 16mm because the result will not good as when it worked on APS-C

Lens Test: Tokina AT-X 12–28mm f/4 Pro DX

Tokina has recently shown remarkable success in controlling distortion at ultrawide focal lengths, while keeping prices low. This new 12–28mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX wide-angle zoom for Canon and Nikon APS-C bodies ($599, street) continues that fine trend.

Good upgrade from the older 11-16mm Tokina

Awesome lens. I've owned the original 11-16mm F/2.8 AT-X Pro DX from Tokina and decided to upgrade to this one for greater range and internal focusing. I definitely don't miss the 11mm, and by giving it up I can go all the way to 28mm where my primes begin (at 30mm) With modern high-ISO sensors, I...

A great little wide-angle lens

A great little wide-angle lens. Not too heavy and very compact. Some vignetting when zoomed right out but to be expected really. {icture quality is excellent
