Western Digital My Cloud EX2

Western Digital's My Cloud EX2 NAS fits a niche between WD's consumer-targeted My Cloud and its four-bay business storage solution the My Cloud EX4 . Clean industrial design; Easy to set up; Offers simple remote access configuration via the My Cloud service; Excellent read speeds

Average write speeds; Plastic handle to pull drives out of bay is flimsy and easy to break; Hard drives hot to the touch after several hours of system uptime

Western Digital My Cloud EX2

When I was younger, I have heard "adults" boasting about their Hard Drive storage space being the latest in technology with 10GB or 20GB of space and that will be enough for a very long time.

Ready to use right out of the box and very easy to setup; Gives you the personal cloud features that can be accessed with free to use mobile apps and software; Affordable pricing for a NAS in similar class; Cost efficient; much better than setting up a dedicated system just for the same purpose

Flimsy build quality of the enclosure; Limited expandability; No options for accessing the drives via USB interface

Western Digital My Cloud EX2 - Redundant Cloud Storage on a Smaller Scale

Last October, Western Digital launched the My Cloud . This device was essentially a network connected version of their My Book line of external hard drives, but with Internet connectivity and apps that could reach back to the My Cloud even when you were away from home.

Good Price, Decent Basic NAS

First NAS device. Wanted something basic, easy to use, with some "pro" features. This seems to fit the bill. Was easy to setup and get connected to. RAID was simple to configure. PC and device software works pretty well.

Compact; Easy Setup; Quiet

I really like this as I am able to access it from anywhere with a reasonable WiFi connection - even to the extent of playing music from it. Good product.
