I use a Canon 5D Mk IV camera. This lens is a lightweight version of the L series lens of the same focal length range. It is also slightly smaller and much quieter when focusing, which the benefit of the STM technology.

tHIS LENS WORK WELL WITH THE LENS HOOD AND THE FILTERS.
Lightweight; Sharp Focus
I bought this because I wanted a lens in this range and couldn't afford the L lens. I've been thrilled with it. Focus is quick and accurate. Images are sharp and crisp. It's now got about 10,000 shots on it and it's still as responsive and crisp as it was the first day.
Great image quality; fast focus; reasonable price
Some CA above about 90mm but it's minor enough that you have to go looking for it, as a rule; I've only noticed it on an item that had black and white checks, and one side of the black checks had small purple fringing; I didn't notice it until I was looking at the image full size on my computer
I bought this lens a few months ago and have since used it for pretty much everything. Nightclub photography. Astrophotography. Landscapes. You name it. this lens have excelled at it all.
The real world experience is I could not tell the difference in a photo taken by this lens and the 24-105L, even wide open. This is not the sharpest 24-105 lens, but it is the fact that the "L" version is not a very good performer that makes this lens kinda outstanding (I owned and shot 2 copies of...
Price; light weight; good built; really close to the "L" in sharpness; silent STM focus
CA; Power need to be on to even "manual" focus; stop down to get to the "L" sharpness
The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is a surprisingly capable standard zoom lens that will appeal most to photographers looking for a lightweight and responsive lens that won't cost the earth, and is a real alternative to the more expensive, 10-year-old Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.
The 24-105mm zoom range is popular with photographers because it can cover a wide range of subject types and situations so we thought it would be useful to look at a one of the new versions of the original EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, which was released just over a decade ago to complement Canon's first...
I use this for beautiful shots for my YouTube tech channel. It is a well built and great piece of glass. I use it with a Canon 80D and this is my goto lens.
This lens is not to be confused with the 24 -105 f/4 'L' lens, which costs about twice as much. The STM lens has a smaller aperture at the longer focal length (f/5.6 compared with f/4 for the 'L' lens) which makes it not so good for action photography where a fast shutter speed is required.
The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM ($599.99) may be a budget lens when compared with the company's line of L lenses that are often paired with full-frame Canon cameras, but it's a quality zoom nonetheless.
Quite sharp; Light and compact; STM focus motor; Optical stabilization system; Full-frame coverage; Attractive price point
Distortion throughout zoom range; Narrow maximum aperture; Lens hood not included
