The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 STM IS has a couple of the "right ingredients" for being a potentially good performer - it doesn't really have an ambitious zoom range, the max.

Shooting with a full-frame DSLR is a costly business, and this goes beyond the price of the body alone. I use this for beautiful shots for my YouTube tech channel. It is a well built and great piece of glass. I use it with a Canon 80D and this is my goto lens.

This lens is not to be confused with the 24 -105 f/4 'L' lens, which costs about twice as much. The STM lens has a smaller aperture at the longer focal length (f/5.6 compared with f/4 for the 'L' lens) which makes it not so good for action photography where a fast shutter speed is required.

The first copy of this lens had issues with auto-focus, and I returned it. Then I got another copy from Amazon and it works PERFECT. This is definitely not a L lens, but it's perfect for video shooters, because 1) it has STM 2) it has IS. Enough said.

Objectif acheté en février 2016 pour équiper un Eos 6D. Plus léger (et moins cher) que le 25 105 f4 L IS USM, il donne de très bons résultats. Un peu court en basse lumière, il reste utilisable sans souci en poussant à 6400 voire 12800 ISO (le 6D est impeccable à 6400 et encore très bon à 12800).
