I got this scanner for a huge family project to scan my late parents photos and negatives from the 1930s to the 2000's. I am actually scanning the bulk of prints for the 70s on with a Fujitsu ScanSnap.

I had been using an old Perfection 2450 to scan slides and negatives for creating photos to sell on Ebay. I was never happy with the scanned images which lacked the sharp definition of the original slides and negatives.
Great scanning quality and easy to use
At last, a multifunction scanner that does an excellent job. Integrates well with Mac OSX and produces first rate results. Bundled OS software is not for Mac setup so requires on line access to Epson.
Easy to use; Build quality

In terms of image detail this model is hard to beat, offering optical resolution up to 4800x6400 dpi, which can be increased to up to 12,800x12,800 dpi through...
