It\'s an incredible lens for the price. Today, what lens do you get for 150 € This is the price for a brand new one. Try it and you will love it.

Very sharp after being closed to f2.8; Very good image quality on all the frame; Fast and reliable AF on a D610

This lens is no more made in Japan; but the build quality is OK

Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor

One of the few lenses I've observed that transmits all the light -- and the information that light carries, to the sensor or film plane. Its maximum aperture value is equal to its T-stop value. F1.4 = F1.4, this according to DXOmark. Very sharp by f2.8, and razor sharp by f5.6 and beyond.

F stop value = T-stop value no light absorbed by adding too many light/information absorbing elements: 1.4 = 1.4; a true "f1.4" lens; sharpness; cost; brilliant image quality; size; weight; cost; durable in-camera screw drive auto focus (not tiny in-l

Some have said there is a hot-spot in the center of the frame at f16, which is especially evident shooting IR film; I have briefly tested for this on my digital camera and did not observe this; But I rarely shoot f16 and have not shot any IR film in a dec

Great Optics with Extremely Poor Material

I barely used this lens with my 35mm after I bought it paying extra for f/1.4D instead of 1.8. The aperture blades are stuck and the camera cannot change aperture anymore. I kept the lens extremely carefully and was never exposed to any condition that could have damaged the lens by making the...

A Classic

This is a lens for those who appreciate a classic standard focal length prime that uses the timeless seven element in six groups planar optical formulation. Every major manufacturer from Zeiss, to Olympus, to Yashica (RIP), to Pentax, to Minolta to Canon, to Sigma has made nearly an identical lens...

A time tested great prime for my Nikons

I purchased this lens from B&H twelve years ago and it is still one of my favorite primes. It is light weight, tough build and still in mint condition. It sustained a 10+ ft drop from a bridge during one of my trip to Yosemite national park. It takes amazing low light pictures with beautiful bokeh.

Outstanding with F100 and film

I am using this on my F100. The focus is very fast and very accurate. The bokeh is creamy and not distracting. I especially love this lens with traditional black-and-white films. The graininess works with the bokeh to produce very interesting photos.

Rugged; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Strong Construction; Lightweight; Nice Bokeh

Pound-for-pound the best lens I own!

Superb value, produces stunning, pro quality images. Light, compact lens, works in low light. If you do not have a prime/fixed lens then the difference is huge. Of course it is limited to one focal range but the quality outweighs this and great for learning to move your feet and think more about...

Great bokeh. Soft focus at wide open

Fast lens. Great bokeh. Soft focus at wide open. Sharpens at f4 and up. Feels more solid than the (equivalent) new G lens.

50mm Prime

Used it the same day it arrived. Reminded me of the old days when prime lens was all I used. Loved the simplicity and boken I was able to obtain. Like always my order was shipped quickly and received in perfect condition.

Aperture ring; Sharp focus; lovely boken..
