As mentioned by others, little heavy, but definitely built to last! Well mostly; anyway, known problem with the af ring splitting (which was broken on the 2nd hand one i got upon arrival) but i made a repair for now, it working fine for time being...
I love this lens. I have been used an older Nikkor 80-200 F2.8 (push-pull) since many years ago. Nikon continued bringing top quality products. This lens is a good companion to my D7000.
I bought this lens to use at the rink for Hockey and Figure Skating. The results are really impressive. Hand holding this baby is a bit hit and miss, you really need a monopod. The auto focus is fast and the images are sharp. If you want to get professional results this lens is a must have.
The 80-200 f2.8D is a great solid reliable and high performance lens. It is optically comparable to the first series 70-200 f2.8 VR, so the decision comes down to your need for image stabilization and instant manual focus overide.
Very sharp and consistent medium range lens, great bokeh and very little fall off at lower stops. It's heavy but that's from great construction and it's built to to last .
Consistent Output; Durable; Rugged; Very Fast
Heavy; Heavy Noisy
I was a little skeptical about using this lens with the D7000. I have used it for around two days now (around 300 photos). I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. The focus is sufficiently fast and the images are tack sharp when shot at a higher shutter speeds. Amazing bokeh.
Pros: Not as heavy as expected, Good Bokeh Cons: Need To Use A Monopod Other thoughts: Good price for an excellent craftsmanship
The product is very useful and has a very good built quality. The quality of images are awesome.
Verry good
