Six years later now Nikon surprised us with another wide angle zoom, the Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24/3.5-4.5, slightly extended in range at the wide end, but no longer a constant aperture zoom.

The exorbitant price made this lens unpopular, enthusiasts going behind Tamron or Sigma; I am fine with this lens which I borrowed from my friend for testing, went well; I am not planning to go Nikkor 12-24, price factor

The Nikon name and longevity convinced me to buy this lens over a 3rd party one, I expect Nikon to have ability and spares over long period to fix this lens if it ever has a problem. Good wide angle range and image quality is good over the entire range.

Good little lens for its purpose. I have used it with a D7k for interiors and if you stay away from flare points and shoot with a little care, the CA is not too bad (manageable with software corrections). The range is great and is reminiscent of when I shot Canon with the 16-35. About as sharp too.

Shooting at a 15mm angle isn't for everyone, but if you're a fan of an ultra-wide perspective, it's a lens to consider adding to your Nikon kit. The lens is impressively sharp in the center, but it's not perfect; the edges suffer unless you narrow the aperture, and there's quite a bit of barrel distortion at the 10mm focal length.
