A recent report by Counterpoint revealed that the India smartphone market recorded its highest-ever shipments and revenue in the year 2021. In the past year OnePlus managed to record highest-ever shipments and reached 59% YoY growth.

OnePlus has changed a lot. The brand originally started out by releasing a single flagship phone a year sold at a substantially lower price to its more established competitors. Lately that’s less true.

For its price, the second-gen Nord CE is a solid offering. It might not be the most exciting phone on the market, but it gets the job done without any serious compromises. And all for a very fair price indeed.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 doesn’t exactly rip up the rulebook with its familiar display, design, and camera system. However, solid lower- mid-range performance, dependably classy software, and rapid charging make for another accomplished all-rounder.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 is an impressive affordable mid-ranger, with only a few flaws - though the biggest is OnePlus’s lacklustre commitment to software updates, which will likely see the phone out of updates by the end of next year.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 deftly walks the line between premium flagship and budget-friendly smartphones with impressive results.

As I said in the beginning, the Nord CE 2 has more shades of Oppo than OnePlus. It is very much evident that the future lineup of OnePlus phones, especially on the budget and mid-end, will have similarities to that of Oppo phones.
