This was a plug and play unit. No prob. getting going after loading the driver CD. I
use this for general home use. Not fast but works good for what I use it fore .

This works pretty good with a Computer running XP, but not very well if you have a newer computer running 7. Why this is, I don't know. HP ought to fix it! You may wind up spending hours with tech support with no real fix. I expect a scanner to do two things: 1. scan docs into .pdf, and 2.

I've gone through 2-3 scanners over the past 5 years and have been frustrated by all. But not now! The HP Scanjet G3110 laps the field, as far as I'm concerned. Easy to install, incredibly easy to use. I no longer have problems with the save-and-file functions. It's also a handsome unit.

Scanning pictures so far, I do intend on scanning negatives and slides also. I am starting to understand the software a little better now. Good results so far.

This scanner software is reasonably easy to install. It is also reasonably easy to control the file size of the scan. Also the low resolution scanning of pictures shows a good quality result.

A flatbed scanner with a transparency and negative adapter built into its lid will normally cost you over ￡100, but HP's Scanjet G3110 beats this price by over 10 percent and looks good into the bargain.

I decided to cut my losses, threw the brand new HP G3110 scanner away, and bought a different brand scanner. The new scanner installed in 10 min and works flawlessly :)

Relatively cheap; Friendly service (it's not the service tech's fault that they have to provide support for an inferior product

Although the scanner was supposed to work with Win 7; after spending a total of 8 hrs with tech support (on the phone and on chat); they still could not get it working

HP has a winner with this scanner for under $100.00.
