The ultra-wide features work exactly as stated. This lens is a big plus for architecture photographs. It is as expected heavy on a full-frame Nikon and I would like to use the built in wink flash rather than the external flash.I will be using this lens a lot. Wayne

The ultimate in ultra-wide for Nikons, the AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm 1:2.8G is the perfect addition to any kit. As a full frame lens it will be perfect on your D3, D700, or most modern Film SLRs from Nikon (it works perfectly on my F80).

- Sharp at any aperture; right open to f/2.8; - Sealed; can be used in downpour without any problems; - Comparable even with older film based SLRs (F4 and up

- G; no manual aperture control; - Front element is curved; preventing the application of a protective filter; - Weird slip on lens cap

A remarkable Nikon ultra-wide pro lens

Exceptional edge to edge sharpness, contrast and color. Super fast and silent autofocus with D3/D300. Absolutely enjoy shooting with this full frame ultra-wide lens even with a D300 (effectively 21mm-36mm). Well worth its price if fast ultra wide is desired.

excellent shapness, contrast and color; fast ultra wide full frame lens with well controlled distortion

relative easy flare; functional limit for some older film SLRs; no filter mount

Stunning lens

lens hood useful for protecting lens, especially if having to place down on flat hard surface. Lack of filter threads a real shame as it's the only significant negative about this lens which has excellent distortion control. Lee make filters specifically for this lens but are expensive as a result.

Easily Interchangeable; Lack Of Distortion; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

Heavy; No Filter Threads

Excellent but find yourself a good one

This is a fabulous lens, but make sure you get a good version. I tried a used model at first which had a faulty zoom control. Then I bit the bullet and went for a new one, which has been fantastic. Prices vary a lot, so shop around.

Wow!

When people say this lens gives "prime" quality in a zoom they aren't kidding. I'm using this on my D800 and the image quality is astounding. It performs extremely well when stopped down, too, without much sharpness killing diffraction.

amazing image quality weather sealing high build quality metal body

filters for this lens are expensive relatively heavy due to high build quality built-in hood is plastic

I'm happy landscape photographer from the northern hemisphere Finland and I have always wanted to try Nikon gear... my sister is Nikon girl and when I visit her I sometimes keep her N body in my hands but this is all I can do with it...

Usable with canon, it's as sharp as lens can get, I got new dimension in landscape photographing with this lens, ++ Now I can have friends from both sides C&N..; Thank's Nikon for this piece of gold

Firs I thought manual focusing might be a problem with my 5dmk2; but I forgot that very soon after using it it's practically always in focus when 3ft away from the target and who needs filters nowadays anyway
