Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 G ED N - Review / Test Report

The Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED N is a phenomenal lens. It is the sharpest ultra-wide angle lens tested to date. The resolution figures are simply stunning and unprecedented specifically at 14mm and that's straight from the maximum aperture setting.

Good lens, but photo quality lacks

I would recommend to an experienced beginner that wants an easy but good lens.

Works in low light; good zoom; easy to use; lightweight

Shutter speed lacks; focusing issues; ,poor image quality

I do not think lenses can get any sharper.

You have to try this lens on the Nikon D850 if you want to see what this lens is capable of resolving. It just simply blew me away! Mind boggling details and resolution, I do not think that super wide angle zoom lenses can get any better.

Great for fun effect!

This lens is not good for general use, including portraits. Before purchasing it, realize that it is a specialty lens with lots of visual distortion. If you are looking for a general lens, the 24-70 is a better fit. Also, this lens is not for the dx camera user. It works best on full frame cameras.

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Rugged; Strong Construction

Warranty info

This lense appears to be a valuable addition to my photo equipment . I have used it many times in the one week I've had it. I have no regrets purchasing it. The only problem I'm concerned with is the warranty information.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED ($1,999.95) is an ambitious lens-it covers an ultra-wide field of view at its widest, and a 2x zoom ratio that seems modest, but actually changes the field of view quite dramatically given just how much it captures at its widest-and it does it all while...

Excellent lens, bulky

Too bulky for a regular shopper. However if you are a full time photographer looking for something outstanding at outdoors, go for this. Nothing can match the amount of space it covers at narrow distances. No flaw in pictures it takes.

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G IF-ED AF-S Nikkor

This is an excellent lens for landscape photography. And you can do a lot of photographic experiments with it. It works perfect on a D800. For that Camera only the best glass is good enough, but the 16 -35 gives you also excellent results. Just buy this lens if you are a wide angle junkie ...

Very wide and very sharp; super Haptik

If you buy this lens you know that you can't use filters; I don't care

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Review

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED ($1,999.95) is an ambitious lens—it covers an ultra-wide field of view at its widest, and a 2x zoom ratio that seems modest, but actually changes the field of view quite dramatically given just how much it captures at its widest—and it does it all while maintaining an f/2.8 aperture. It's an excellent performer, even on full-frame cameras, with only a few weak points, and a go-to lens for Nikon shooters who crave an ultra-wide zoom lens. Some folks may prefer a more modest wide zoom, like the less expensive Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G($746.95 at Amazon), but when 18mm isn't wide enough, this is the lens to reach for. And when you reach for it, it won't be hard to find. The 14-24mm($1,996.95 at Amazon) is big, measuring 5.2 by 3.8 inches (HD) and heavy at 2.1 pounds. Its front element curves outward, so there's no way to screw in a standard lens filter. Lee Filters sells the SW150 holder for use with the lens; it's pricey at $400, b...

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED is an excellent ultra-wide angle zoom with an f/2.8 design, but it's on the pricey side for a specialty lens.

Very sharp; Ultra-wide field of view; Full-frame coverage with f/2.8 aperture

Noticeable wide-angle distortion; Requires special holder for filters; Big; Expensive
