The Best Wide-Angle Lens Ever!

I got this as a Christmas present to help with my landscape and architectural photography. I am 100% happy with this lens as it has exceptional build quality, the photographs produced are sharp from edge to edge, and the lens is well sized and weighted.

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality

Great lens I would not rule out a 10mm prime lens

I just returned from europe was very happy with the results I got from my new wide angle lens. Particularly the cathedrals and government building are in the center of town with many obstacles to work around I was able to get some great shots with this lens.

REVIEW: Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

A well built and presented optic that breaks new ground on the camera it is designed for. Excellent image quality only slightly let down by the distortion at the wide end, something that can be easily sorted in post processing.

Good optical performance; Extreme wide angle capability; Excellent Build quality

Some distortion at the wide end; An expensive optic; Lacking ability to attach filters

Lens Test: Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S The fastest and widest of Nikon's full-frame zooms, this pro lens ($1,800, street) scales up to 21-36mm on the Nikon D300. Introduced with the full-frame D3 and unofficially matched to Nikon's 24-70mm and 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses, this superfast, constant-aperture,...

Nikon's new ultra-wide zoom sets a new standard of excellence

Lets face it, wide angle zooms have their problems and have never been able to produce images as well as straight, fixed focal length, wide angles. Well, now Nikon has re-written the book on how wide angle zooms perform with its new AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED.

Once a groundbreaking ultrawide, this workhorse is now a little old and faces serious rivalries from third party makers such as Tamron 15-30. Still the optic quality is fully comparable even against the newest competitors and the build quality is nothing but exceptional.

Decent optics; very handy focal range and excellent build quality

Expensive (compared with third party rivals); huge; hard to use filters and very prone to flares

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G IF-ED AF-S Nikkor review by DaveJDSP

Amazing zoom lens. The image quality has a superb clarity that is hard to describe. It takes quite a good lens to impress me, but this one does. Unfortunately, the corners are not tack sharp until you get down to f 5.6 or f8.

Amazing clarity and IQ

Corners not acceptable till you get to f5.6 or f8.
