Olympus M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO

The Olympus M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO ($1,499.99) is a serious lens. It covers a longer telephoto zoom range then the standard pro 70-200mm zooms when paired with a Micro Four Thirds camera, and is incredibly sharp from edge-to-edge throughout the entirety of its range, even at f/2.8.

Edge-to-edge sharpness throughout zoom range; No distortion; Protected from cold, dust, and splashes; Excellent close focus capability; Innovative collapsible hood; Manual focus clutch system; Includes tripod collar

Pricey; Lack of optical stabilization an issue for Panasonic Micro Four Thirds shooters

Great Optics, Big for M43 but Small Relative to FF

I'm using this lens with a Panasonic GX8. I'm primarily a still photographer. I've used Nikons for 50 years, but use the GX8 and M43 because of the weight, even though there is some reduction in image quality (not due to this lens but to the M43 format), especially at low light or higher ISOs...

Hand Held Wonder

This lens is why I packed my OM4T up, put in on the shelf and finally went M4/3. Olympus finally gave me a reason to switch. The reason I used my OM4 for so long was portability. The 40-150 on my M-1 returned the Olympus advantage to digital. This lens is best with the 1.4 teleconverter.

Superb

"I've own many micro four thrids lenses since adopting the system. I'll be honest, some haven't met with my expectations. While many lenses in the system are superb by any measure, a large number are what you might call consumer-grade glass good, but not acceptable for professional work by today's...

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO Lens Review

Handling and Features Performance Verdict Specification This telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system cameras provides an angle of view equivalent to an 80-300mm lens used on a 35mm format camera and sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range.

Excellent sharpness; especially when stopped down a little; Relatively compact and lightweight; Robust build; Dust and splash proof; Quick access for manual focus; Good value; Fast focusing

Manual focus control easily nudged; May be a little large for many MFT bodies; Sharpness could be better towards the edges of the frame at 40mm

Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro M.Zuiko Digital ED

I pre-ordered this lens with convertor when released. I only occasionally use the converter. Even though I've scratched it (a bit), I have never regretted the purchase for a moment. . Want a close shot of something small and timid This is as good as it gets. .

Sharp, fast focus, the closest focus of any such lens; Great hood, rain impervious, good into the light; Compatible with focus stacking and other EM-1+ or EM-5mk2+ advanced features

IQ falls off a tad with the converter attached

Olympus M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO

I previously owned this lens when using Olympus and then switched systems only to return and purchase it again. This focal length is so useful and at a constant f/2.8. It also works very well for portraits.

Superb lens on Panasonic or Olympus

I was looking for a mid telephoto and had difficulty choosing between the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 and the Lumix 35-100 2.8. Both are fantastic lenses. In the end it comes down to which is more important, the longer reach of the Olympus (and having the option of using the MC-14 teleconverter) vs having...
